We need to be more serious about computing ethics when software developers have the hubris to intentionally implement harmful code. People were divided on whether permanent hearing loss was acceptable. There's another recent post on KVR about FabFilter sending noise full scale or some-such when it thinks it detects a DRM problem. Lack of software controls introduced bugs, but when patients were getting orders of magnitude more radiation than desired they blamed user error.
